With its alternate leaves and beautiful red berries, the chokeberry, Aronia arbutifolia,is a wonderful native shrub that helps feed the birds in winter, provides nectar for insects in the spring and has beautiful color in the fall.
I thought it would make a cool subject for a necklace if I could figure out how to keep the leaves from drooping. In the end, I opted to embed copper wire in to the leaves and wired those onto a larger copper wire. This added depth and a contrasting texture to the berries, one of the characteristics I particularly like in the bush. Enjoy!

Another beautiful creation, Karen; congrats! I really like the Forsythia necklace you made as well. You are so talented.
Thanks, Emily! Wish I could come see your exhibit-it sounds wonderful!
Fantastic, I love it!!
Thanks! It’s fun to see an image in your head come to life…
Beautiful chokeberry necklace. I had a wonderful black chokeberry in my front yard until one of my attempts at having yard work resulted in it being removed by mistake.

Thanks, Carol! Sorry about your bush…they are such slow growers (at least mine is), it would take a while to replace it.
Gorgeous necklace!
