We decided to get out of the house on Labor Day and travel to Michigan to see the dunes by the Lake. Warren Dunes State Park is a beautiful place with high windswept dunes and a sandy beach. Dogs are allowed in places so we brought our sheltie, Cody, thinking that he could cool down in the water since it was a hot day. Unfortunately, he took a great exception to the waves constantly bearing down on him and barked at them furiously. This was amusing for a little while, but not so much when he kept it up. His commotion got other dogs riled up and I felt like we were causing a riot as we passed along the beach.
Ignoring the dog, I enjoyed the beach, the waves, and looking for beautiful rocks.
After lunch, my husband took the dog for a more tranquil walk in the woods while I sketched in the shade.
The dunes don’t look so big until you focus in and see the tiny people on them…enjoy!
