Since the insects aren’t out in their full glory yet, I’ve been obsessing about birds instead as they migrate through our area or return for the warm season.  It’s wonderful to learn about species that are new to me from other birders on social media.  Northern harriers are an example of that.  They are raptors that fly low over the prairies with distinctive long tails and owl-like faces.  I was lucky enough to see one on a recent walk and though the photos aren’t perfect, they show the beauty of this bird.  I’m grateful for all the gifts of nature that God reveals when we open our eyes.  Enjoy!
