Spring is teasing us with warm temperatures this week, and if you look closely there are some flowers appearing in the barren landscape.  Witch hazel shrubs have burst into bloom at the Morton Arboretum and you have to slow down to see them.  Hiding among last year’s leaves or lining the branches like clusters of fireworks, witch hazel flowers come in several colors and sizes and are one of the earliest flowering shrubs in the Midwest.  It was good to get out and hear the birds singing and soak in the beauty of nature.  Enjoy!
