Finally finished up one last piece for the exhibit I’m sharing with Suzanne Wegener at the Heller Nature Center.  This painting started with a sketch I did at my parents’ house in Texas back in 2004.  I found a very cooperative tree frog hiding in the elephant ears and was able to get some of the patterns in place.

After I sculpted a couple of tree frogs recently, this sketch came back to mind and an idea started percolating.  Finishing the bees helped cement the idea to combine a painting with some sculpture and Sanctuary was created.  Enjoy!
