The second half of the week consisted of workshops and field trips. It’s always hard to choose and invariably the ones I wanted overlapped. This year I took two workshops, Drawing Raptors and Luscious Grays, and left some free time for sketching up in the Blue Ridge Parkway as well as at the farm on campus. There were so many beautiful, interesting or cute things to draw that it was hard to choose! All in all, I learned a lot, had a lot of encouragement for my work, met some great new people, and can’t wait to head to Washington, DC for the 2018 Conference. Enjoy!

Karen, I see they’ve finally added ads to your WordPress site, as they somtimes threaten to do to on mine. Worse thing is that they pull me down to the ads constantly, and I can’t even control the scroll bar so that I can view your artwork. Crazy!!!! And most unfortunate!
I’m so sorry about that…
Always LOVE your sketches! I have quit Safari and changed to the browser, Firefox, and now the ads are not controlling the scroll bar. Hmmmmm. What mysteries!
Looks like a great conference!
It was!
That Blue Ridge Mountain sketch is fabulous! I love all the cute animal and insect shots!
Thanks, Clare! It was a great time and I’m glad to have the sketches to remind me 🙂
Nice sketches, I really like the mountain view, and the animals. The photos of the cats have a lot of character also.
Thanks, Shawn!
Fab sketches, especially the roaming sketches! Wonderful!
Thanks, Resa!
