Suzanne Wegener and I will be sharing an exhibit coming up May 17 through June 9, 2019 at the Burning Bush Art Gallery.  Suzanne is a fantastic botanical artist who works mainly in watercolor, gouache, and graphite.  She loves painting lichen and intricate flowers, pods and leaves.  She teaches all over the Chicagoland area and is the Vice President of the American Society of Botanical Artists.   I am honored to have my work hanging with hers!

Suzanne says, “Capturing the details of nature and sparking a curiosity of the natural world is what I hope to accomplish in creating my work.  I enjoy being surrounded by beautiful plants in the garden and capturing their unique structures in watercolor and gouache, or perhaps in graphite with a touch of watercolor.  From the elegant tendrils of vines to shriveled husks and dried seed pods, they are all lovely to me.”

I will have my wide array of media (watercolor, acrylic, sculpture and quilts) portraying insects and plants there and it will be fun to see how our work integrates.

We will be having an artists’ reception on Friday, May 17 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Burning Bush Art Gallery in Wheaton, IL.  Hope to see you there!
