The summer has gone by all too quickly. I finished up this sketchbook…
And then started a new sketchbook by Etchrlabs. It’s larger and has thicker watercolor paper that’s a smooth hot press, which allows me to use ink and watercolor with much less frustration. I’ve been loving it! Here’s what I’ve done so far through September 3. Each spread has multiple plein air visits to the prairie on it as well as some studio work. The plants, except for the blazing stars, and the landscapes were done at the prairie. Enjoy!
Wow! You were inspired.Linn
Thanks, Linn!
Karen, these are really beautiful! You are truly expressing so much from your deep well of skill and interpretation. I like learning of this sketchbook too. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much, Marilyn! I’ve really been enjoying these sketchbooks. They’re made in Australia.
In recent years I have mostly used 300 lb. hot press paper (Arches) or the heavy smooth Lanaquerelle which Peggy Mcnamara uses, I like them immensely.
What a gorgeous sketchbook
Thanks, Vivienne! It will bring back lots of memories for me…
Beautiful work, Karen!
Thanks, Sue!
Absolutely gorgeous, Karen!
Thanks, Clare! It’s been a fun summer seeing all the many plants and insects that live in the prairie. It’s a little sad seeing it all end…
Fantastic Karen! It’s so nice when the paper does it’s job. These are beautiful pages.
Thanks, Jean! I’d forgotten that watercolor doesn’t have to be a pain-lol
